"Dr. Raj Terkonda and his staff gave us a perfect service and outcome for a deviated septum. The doctor was very thorough in diagnosis, treatment plan, and instructions. The office staff did all of the work to ensure that our procedure and pre-ops were pre-authorized by Aetna and scheduled quickly. We wished we hadn't deferred this procedure for so long, but waiting for the right doctor and team is everything!"- S.C. / Google / Apr 07, 2023
"Dr TerKonda went above and beyond with my surgery to repair a deviated septum, and I can breathe much more clearly now. The admin side of the office has a few things to sort out with duplicate billing and wait communication issues, but I highly recommend the medical care/treatment."- I.T. / Google / Mar 20, 2023
"Dr. TerKonda fixed my deviated septum and excess tissue. Surgery was a success and he and his team are very caring every step of the way."- K. / Google / Dec 22, 2022
"I just had a septoplasty and nasal valve repair. I appreciate that Dr. Terkonda took his time to make sure that I was safe to have surgery. The medication he prescribed for the nasal drip was better than four years of receiving allergy shots. Nasal drip has gotten far better postop, but every now and then I still use the medication. I cannot believe this is how everyone else breathes and smells! Are you kidding me? Absolutely amazing."- H.L. / Google / Sep 16, 2022
What Are the Benefits of Mohs Reconstruction?

In these cases, Mohs reconstruction performed by Dr. TerKonda and the team at Cherry Creek Face and Skin has a number of benefits, including:
- Restores a natural appearance
- Improved healing compared to Mohs surgery alone
- Effective and safe results

How is Mohs Reconstruction performed?
The Mohs surgery procedure is mainly employed to deal with the two most prevalent forms of skin cancer, including squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma, as well as a wide variety of other skin cancer subtypes. During the surgery, your surgeon will generally use local anesthetics to numb the affected area before incisions are made for removal. The excised layer is suspended, processed, and then analyzed under the microscope. When extra cancer follicles are detected, they are marked with the corresponding map and the process is repeated. The method continues until a clean layer with no remaining cancer is reached. Following the surgery, Dr. TerKonda can begin the reconstruction process to ensure the best healing with the most natural result. Dr. TerKonda and his team will also provide instructions for proper wound care following surgery to ensure you experience maximum healing.
Mohs reconstruction FAQs
Will I have a scar after Mohs reconstruction?
Most moles are removed with very small incisions at Cherry Creek Face and Skin. However, it is possible that you will have a scar if the mole was large or if there were other factors at play that made removal more difficult. Our team can provide instructions about caring for the incision site to reduce the appearance of future scarring.
Is Mohs reconstruction painful?
Dr. TerKonda uses local anesthetics before surgery to reduce any discomfort during the procedure. Depending on the location of the incision site, there may be some mild discomfort afterward, which can be reduced with over-the-counter pain medication. Our patients can also benefit from cooling compresses, which may reduce mild swelling and bruising.
Is Mohs reconstruction covered by my insurance?
Insurance companies may or may not cover Mohs procedures. Our administrative staff in Denver, CO, can help you check with your specific carrier and provide information about financing before the procedure. We hope to make treatments as affordable as possible for our patients.
